Synopsis

Ping Guai Bids Farewell

Sit Ping Guai is a man of humble origins. Through a stroke of luck, he wins the hand of the prime minister’s daughter Po-chuen. To the minister’s dismay, the couple marry and set up home together in a cave. When Ping receives an imperial order to fight in the war, his wife promises her loyalty and love in a heartfelt farewell.

The Phoenix Pavilion

Learning that General Lui Bo and his mentor Tung Cheuk are conspiring to depose the Han emperor, Minister Wong Wan makes a plot with his beautiful singer Diu Sim to pit the conspirators against each other. With skillful seduction and deceit, Diu Sim succeeds in winning Lui’s heart and turning him against Tung.

At the Sweet Dew Monastery 

When warlord Liu Bei invades Jingzhou, strategist Zhou Yu plots to take the district back. Setting up a blind date for Liu at the Sweet Dew Monastery, Zhou makes plans to kidnap him. But when Liu is escorted to the date by his protector general Zhao Yun, an unexpected twist of fate occurs.

The Reunion by a White Hare

When Liu Zhi-yuan leaves to join the army, his pregnant wife San-niang is forced to live with her abusive relatives. Giving birth to a son, she begs her brother to take the baby and find Liu. Some years later, Liu and his son return home. On the way, the son chases a white hare and unexpectedly meets San-niang, reuniting the family.
