Originated from Argentina, FUERZA BRUTA, meaning “brute force” in Spanish, is a dynamic and immersive theatre experience that redefines timeless storytelling, transcending the conventions and limitations of language with a multi-sensory kaleidoscope of cultural and societal themes, breathtakingly narrated through the universal prose of colour, sound and movement.
"No wonder the translation would be 'Brute Force'. Fortunately, for the young at heart and in the body, the show offers an abundance of dazzling theatrical and sensory pleasures”
──Frank Scheck, The New York Post.
After a world tour that included nine successful years off-Broadway in New York, FUERZA BRUTA will make its Hong Kong debut in 2020 as FUERZA BRUTA Look Up Hong Kong. It will be potent yet infinitely ethereal, with each chapter of its enigmatic story delivered in a frenzy of music, light, acrobatics, and dance. Creating a four-dimensional sensory symphony, FUERZA BRUTA Look Up Hong Kong will evolve and continuously re-engage the audience, who will play the roles of both participant and witness.
“A physical and visual extravaganza”
──The New York Times
With worldwide success in 59 cities in 34 countries, including recent sell-out shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei and Macau, FUERZA BRUTA Look Up Hong Kong is a spectacle that needs to be seen to be believed. At the centre of the Box that will constantly have event goers looking up in expectation, spectators will share in the raw emotion of a man sprinting for his life, the ethereality of beautiful sirens twisting and writhing in suspended lucite pools, and the charged passion of bands as they surge through the audiences’ ranks.

About Creator and Artistic Director:
Diqui James was born in 1965 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 18, he enrolled at the Conservatorio Nacional for Theatre, despite never having attended a theatre production before. He continued to expand his understanding of theatre and acting techniques with several notable teachers before forming La Organización Negra, an independent theatre group that created original plays, in 1985. In 1993, Diqui co-founded De La Guarda, a performance produced by a troupe of the same name, that successfully ran from 1993–2006. In 2002, with many of the members of De La Guarda, he founded Fuerza Bruta, a company dedicated to creativity and experimentation.
