International Workshop Festival of Theatre: Public Lecture on Autoteatro
Hong Kong Polytechnic University , 14.11.2015
‘An Autoteatro work is a “trigger” for a subsequently self-generating performance.’ – Ant Hampton
Beginning with Rotozaza's 'Etiquette' in 2007, Ant Hampton’s Autoteatro series, including ‘Someone Else’ and ‘Cue China’, explores a new kind of performance whereby audience members perform the piece themselves. Participants are given instruction via audio, visual cues or text of what to do or say.
Join Ant for a public lecture on ‘autotheatre workshop’, where he will share how his works embrace and incorporate an untrained public, and his experience of presenting works in cities around the world.
