International Workshop Festival of Theatre: Workshop on Writing Movement, Text & Dance
Ko Shan Theatre New Wing , 26.10.2015 to 30.10.2015
AMERICA - Visions of love, (c) Erik Berg
“Entering into a creative process is entirely terrifying. At the beginning of each of process, it always feels like the first time.
There's the trembling pen, the white page, the empty room, the expectant eyes - all watching you, waiting for you.
And yet, 6-8 weeks later: A two act ballet, a 6 hour long play, a feature film - somehow seem to have been made.
To me this is the magic of creation.” - Alan Lucien Øyen
Join Alan Lucien Øyen, writer, choreographer, director and founder of Winter Guests from Norway, for a 5-day workshop that explores different ways of working with stories that both originate from the real world, as well as creating fictional stories in direct dialogue with surrounding realities.
Using a playful and open approach, participants will apply Øyen’s way to create work from scratch, through a process that can involve creative writing, improvisation, finding and working with “found text”, working with movement, different types of media, acting styles and narratives.
