Art, Ritual and the Everyday
Rirkrit Tiravanija in conversation with Pauline J. Yao
Sheela Gowda in conversation with Doryun Chong

On 1 December, “Art, Ritual and the Everyday”, presents one-to-one conversations between M+ Visual Arts Lead Curator Pauline J. Yao, M+ Deputy Director and Chief Curator Doryun Chung and two internationally recognised visual artists, Rirkrit Tiravanija (New York, Berlin, Chiang Mai) and Sheela Gowda (Bangalore).

Each dialogue seeks to give insight into these artists’ working processes and inspirations and explores how they navigate local and global perspectives. Rirkrit Tiravanija is a conceptual artist known for his cooking-based performances and creating spaces that blur the boundaries between art and life, while Sheela Gowda is widely reputed for her incorporation of everyday objects or locally found materials into her large-scale site-oriented installations.
