Fish On Dish

1992, Video installation, LCD video projector and white plate, Dimension variable

An early work by Yuan Goang-Ming, Fish On Dish explores the relationship between technology and the human mind. Through orienting the projection of a swimming goldfish onto a ceramic plate, the work challenges perceptions and expectations of reality. The meticulous synchronisation between the projection and the circular shape of the plate creates an illusion of a transparent border, highlighting Yuan’s progressive experimentation in new media art.
