Shen Tiemei, one of today’s most accomplished Chuanju artists, is recognized as a pioneer in the development of Chuanju in modern China.  By reviving the rich vocal traditions of Chuanju and adapting contemporary play, she has brought new life and dimentions to the centuries-old xiqu genre.  In this seminar, Shen Tiemei will share her experience in developing and promoting Chuanju, and on the innovation and revitalization of traditional Chinese theatre, in conversation with Dr. Fredric Mao, who is dedicated to the rejuvenation of Cantonese opera in Hong Kong.
