The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) welcomes the re-appointment of the Honourable Henry Tang Ying-yen as Chairman of the Board of WKCDA by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, for another term of two years starting from 1 October 2019.

Mr Tang, who assumed the Board Chairmanship on 1 October 2017, served as the founding Board Chairman of WKCDA between 2008 and 2011, during which time WKCDA achieved significant progress in the planning of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD).

Mr Tang said, “I am deeply grateful to the Chief Executive for re-appointing me as Chairman of the Board of WKCDA. WKCD is the most important cultural investment of Hong Kong. As WKCD has progressed from the planning phase and currently in the operation phase, I look forward to working closely with the fellow members of the Board to achieve the vision, mission and upcoming exciting projects of WKCD.”

Mr Duncan Pescod, Chief Executive Officer of WKCDA, said, “We welcome this re-appointment of Mr Henry Tang as Chairman of the Board of WKCDA. As Chairman, Mr Tang has taken a leading role in guiding the development of WKCD. I thank Mr Tang for his leadership and support on many initiatives in performing arts, M+ and Hong Kong Palace Museum over the past few years. The WKCDA team and I look forward to continuing working with Mr Tang in building WKCD as an international arts and cultural hub.”
