The museum will have 7,800 square metres of gallery space, introducing aspects of the fascinating history and culture of the Palace Museum, with exceptional works from its collection, such as painting, calligraphy, the decorative arts, and rare books.
The construction of the Hong Kong Palace Museum began in May 2019. Project milestones were on schedule and the museum building topped out in June 2020. Progress continues to be steady, with internal-fixtures, fittings, and finishing works soon to be underway. The museum is slated to open in mid-2022.
