Stephane is currently the drummer for various Cantopop concerts and recordings, including Ellen Loo and the Ripples band, the HK Cantonese Reggae 7-piece Sensi Lion, and Taitaofat, as well as a DJ for Heavy HK and Retropolis. Stephane started his musical horizons when he was 16 with his band Taitaofat and played for bands such as King Ly Chee, Whence He Came and etc.
Obsessed with Dance and Electronic music, Stephane became DJ Stef:funn in 2006 and co-founded "HEAVY HK" with BloodDunza, bringing a range of Drum N' Bass and Reggae selections to the Hong Kong's Cubbing scene.
Graduated as a Theatre Designer and Director in London's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design with First Honours, Jing Wong is now a singer-songwriter who has toured over 20 cities in China with 2 albums released. He describes his music as ‘Damien Rice on Steroids with Jack White on guitar.’
He was the opening act for Belle & Sebastian, Kings of Convenience and Andrew Bird in their tour to Hong Kong, and played at Music Festivals such as the Clockenflap in West Kowloon Cultural District.
Formed in 2014, Nowhere Boys is a group of independent musicians collaborating, in search of a new cinematic rock sound. Members include singer-songwriter Van Chan, jazz drummer Nate Wong, guitar expert Kenneth Angus, psychedelic pianist/ violinist Fisher Kan and all-round bassist/ instrumentalist Hansun Chan. Their music covers a wide range of cinematic stories - from childhood fear towards cockroaches, to fantasies of living in science fictions.
Stranded Whale is a folk-rock band based in Hong Kong. The band consists of Jabin Law (vocal, acoustic guitar), Tomii Chan (backing vocal, electric guitar), Hin Leung (bass) and Dean Li (drums, percussion). Their band name was stimulated by one of Jabin’s songs, “Killer Whale”: a stranded whale is alone and helpless, but it will escape from the ocean soon. Comprising members from different musical backgrounds, the band keeps bringing chemical reaction which might be dangerous, yet promising.
The Boogie Playboys is a Hong Kong Rockabilly band formed in 2013. It was developed from another group, ‘Big Rod’, released its debut album in the late 2012. The band consists of 4 talented musicians :Blues and K13, the rebellious duo from local Rockabilly fashion brand Dirty Boogie, Barry Tam, Executive Producer and Drummer, and Felix, the founder of Local Retro Motorcycle teams S.R.B.C.
C AllStar is a local quartet best known for their a cappella performances. The group, comprised of Andy Leung, Jase Ho, On Chan and King Wu, made their debut in 2010.
Since then, they have been extremely well received, their song “Ladder” has won numerous awards and remained the most popular Canto-pop song on Youtube, attracting over 10 million views.
Eman Lam, a member of the best Hong Kong female singer-songwriter duet "at17", was also a winner of a "Teenager Artiste of the year 2005". The group was awarded as 'The Most Popular Group’ and ‘The Best Group’ by broadcasting media, including TV and Radio. Besides singing, Eman also worked as a host for TV programmes, did voice over work for TV commercials and scored motion pictures , including in RTHK ‘Hong Kong Stories’, famous brands TV commercials, as well as the original music compositions in Hong Kong movie ‘EX’.
Well-travelled and performed all around the world, Anna Fan, the leader, created this fascinating percussion group that always surprises the audience. FANtastica performs heavily on modernised samba, Ghanaian and jazz music, featuring Anna on both drumming and vocal.
The Hong Kong A Cappella Academy was founded in 2013 by Jo Jo Pang, one of the most active a cappella artists in Hong Kong and China. The Academy provides regular a cappella singing courses for music enthusiasts of all ages.
Pong Nan is a Canto-pop musician and singer-songwriter. Pong played in several bands when he was young and after he returned to Hong Kong he uploaded his songs on the internet and performed at live houses and shopping malls and began his music career. Today, Pong is one of the most prolific singer-songwriters in Hong Kong. To mark his 10th anniversary of career, Pong released his album “Caress" and sold over 10,000 copies in 3 months, it has been certified as Gold Record by HKRIA.
Sensi Lion is currently the only local reggae band in Hong Kong. Their Cantonese lyrics are filled with Rastafarianism, Zen thoughts with mysticism and metaphorical meanings. The band believes that all human beings are from the same source. Everyone is equal and there should be no discrimination and no contradictions because of differences in skin tones and eye colors. Their music is to break all these limitations and to praise for love and equality.
Hong Kong singer-songwriter Subyub Lee is studying in the School of Drama at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Acting. While still in secondary school, he fell in love with British rock bands, like Muse, Radiohead, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys, which greatly influenced his musicstyle.
