“A Stage for Joy”

Between 16 and 25 March, West Kowloon presents an exciting new garden display at the Hong Kong Flower Show 2018 in Victoria Park.

The concept behind the design is a landscaped setting that nurtures shared creative experiences and cultural exchange, encourages interaction with nature, and showcases the West Kowloon Cultural District as “A Stage for Joy”.

Inspired by the upcoming opening of our first major venue, the Xiqu Centre, the display features a replica of the Xiqu Centre facade surrounded by colourful flowers and floral arrangements. The facade opens onto a grass arena circled by a miniature representation of the plants and trees in the Art Park and Nursery Park that offers an imaginative stage for cultural events of all kinds.

The display integrates the “Joy in Bloom” theme of this year’s Flower Show, as well as the theme flower “Dahlia” in all its forms and colours, and includes horticultural artworks, music and interactive elements.

Visitors to the display can learn more and visualize the Xiqu Centre with our augmented reality (AR) app, as well as through illustrated poster boards and information screens with details of the venue design and future programmes.

Join us at Victoria Park to explore a picture-perfect floral display and learn more about our vision for the Xiqu Centre.
