If our school cannot meet all of the requirements (such as programme dates and time slots, number and form of students, and electricity), will M+ still consider our application?
Yes. Your school is welcome to submit an application. However, schools that are able to meet all requirements will be given priority.
If our school would like M+ Rover to be stationed on campus for more than one day, is this possible?
Schools are welcome to request that M+ Rover be stationed for more than one day if the campus has overnight parking facilities for the trailer. Your request will be accommodated depending on availability and parking facilities.
What is the arrangement for teachers and students to visit the M+ Rover exhibition and participate in artist-led activities?
All teachers and students are welcome to visit the exhibition during lunch and recess. Guided tours for students can be arranged during class periods, regardless of the subject or grade. M+ staff will introduce the participating artist and his work and give students an interactive experience with games. Each tour is limited to forty participants, and the duration is approximately twenty to twenty-five minutes. Teachers should submit a tour timetable to M+ after confirming the date of in-school activities. Each session of artist-led activities takes about forty to ninety minutes. Schools should arrange between fifteen and forty students from P.2 to P.6 to participate. For details, please refer to the application form.
What is the role of the teacher-in-charge during activities? What kind of preparation is needed?
The teacher-in-charge is responsible for all coordination before the programme (such as ensuring that the school meets venue requirements, submitting tour timetables, and selecting participating students). During the programme, the teacher-in-charge should accompany students to all activities.
Our school would like to join the programme, but our campus cannot meet the venue requirements. Can M+ make other arrangements for us?
If your school’s campus cannot accommodate the M+ Rover, you could explore the possibility of partnering with schools nearby. We also recommend that students and teachers visit M+ Rover as members of the public when M+ Rover is stationed in local communities for artist-led community activities. Details on the community sessions have been announced on our website.
What are the selection criteria?
M+ will engage as many schools in the programme as possible as long as they meet the basic venue requirements. If the number of applications is greater than the number that can be accommodated, schools will be selected based on their past experience of coordinating in-school arts and cultural activities with other organisations.
What are the inclement weather arrangements for M+ Rover activities?
Three hours before the commencement of an activity: M+ Rover activities will be cancelled if a Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted or an announcement is made by the Hong Kong Observatory that a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above will be hoisted. All programmes scheduled for that day, including those due to take place after the signal has been lowered, will be cancelled. During an activity: All outdoor programmes will be suspended if a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted or a Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued. Depending on conditions, M+ will decide whether the activity will be continued or cancelled. M+ reserves the right to cancel all activities under other inclement weather conditions.
