Master Class by Dick Wong

With an emphasis on the creative process rather than technical perfection, the class invites the participants to each create a one-minute physical presentation based on their personal experiences. Wong will guide the participants through a structured process that involves continuous physical transformation and decision-making.

Master Class by BigKi

The class offers participants an opportunity to learn the basic dance moves of breaking (aka breakdancing), including top rock, go-down, footwork and freeze. Instructor BigKi will also give an introduction on the history and culture of breaking, helping the participants gain a deeper understanding of this iconic hip-hop dance style.

Master Class by Xing Liang

In this class, Xing Liang will help the participants each create a dance piece that reflects their inner thoughts through introspection and meditation. Xing will delve into the Buddhist view on life and teach basic dance training techniques, so to guide the participants to form a deeper connection with and express their true selves. Participants are required to bring their own yoga mat and two yoga bricks.

Master Class by Faye Leong*

Our senses are an important tool that helps our imagination take flight. Using a psychophysical approach, Faye Leong will lead the participants to tap into their body vocabulary and utilise it to embody their senses. Participants will experience an elevated awareness of their bodies, which allows feelings and imaginations to flow uncensored. In addition, the class will also learn how to employ the entire body as a vocal resonator.

Participants are required to prepare a memorised monologue of their choice (around 200 words, can be excerpts of a story, a script, a poem, etc.)

Collaboration Class

The Collaboration Class series includes four thoughtfully designed workshops with different themes, each focusing on two aspects of performance and taught by a duo of instructors. Battle guests from The Battle will work in pairs to bring their unique styles and expertise to the class. By joining forces, the artists not only inspire and complement each other, but will offer participants a more comprehensive and dynamic learning experience through artistic exchange and collaboration.
