Arts and Cultural Management – A series of five talks
09.10.2018 to 11.12.2018
In recent years, the local arts and culture scene has seen a number of exciting developments. The completion of cultural venues integrating art and conservation, such as the heritage buildings in Central and Tsuen Wan, the establishment of major international exhibitions, art fairs and auctions, the use of arts and cultural elements in commercial institutions, shopping malls and hotels, and the construction of new performing and visual arts venues in the West Kowloon Cultural District have opened up new possibilities and increased the need for talents in the areas of cultural management and arts administration.
In this series of five talks – “Stage and Outdoor Event Management”, “Productions and Venue Operations”, “Audience Research, Planning and Communication” and “Performing Arts and Visual Culture: Learning and Engagement” – practitioners from a range of local cultural industries share their experience, offer insight into the different areas of work involved in running cultural organisations, and explore the qualifications and passion required for a career in the arts and cultural field.
