Dance films, dance videos and other dance creations designed to be shown on screen are also known as works of screendance. But what elements differentiate a dance choreographed and performed for a camera from a dance created for a live performance?
In this talk, renowned local dance video director Maurice Lai explores the relationship between video and dance. Sharing his experience of transcending the physical boundaries of dance to create works for the screen, he looks at what we understand by screendance, and how a work of screendance can be understood and appreciated.
