Literary Cyanotype Workshop

Cyanotype is an early photographic printing technique that uses paper coated in a photosensitive liquid, sunlight and water to create blue-tinted images. In this workshop, you will learn the basic processes of cyanotype from tutors of nomad nomad and create your own prints using leaves you find in the Nursery Park.

Divination By Poetry

Literature lovers curious about what lies ahead in the Year of the Dog can come along to the House of Hong Kong Literature’s Fortune-telling booth to get lottery poems (“Kau Chim”).

Writing on Leaves – a Wander in the Park

Wander around the Nursery Park with the House of Hong Kong Literature and listen to poems by local writers inspired by the plants we’re growing!

Reading on the Grass

Led by the House of Hong Kong Literature, “Reading on the Grass” returns to Freespace Happening with a new theme for each month. To join the Book Crossing, simply bring along books related to the monthly theme and share them with us, then choose books you would like to adopt! You can also borrow books that other people have shared and read them on the lawn – even if you don’t bring any yourself!

Requirement for books:
-  We welcome books in Chinese and English language
-  We only accept books that are in good condition
-  We only accept legal copies of books
-  Magazines, newspapers and textbooks are also not accepted
-  Books with obscene, violent or offensive content are not accepted 

Book Crossing Guidelines:
-  We suggest that you exchange the same number of books as you brought;
-  You can exchange as many books as you want;
-  Books that fit with the theme of month are highly recommended;
-  Bags will not be provided, please bring your own bag(s);
-  If you did not bring a book to exchange but found a book you are interested in at the Library, you can read the book at Freespace Happening and Return the book to the Library before leaving.
