On 24 January, we have a treat for Frisbee fans when Freespace Happening gets sporty with members of Hong Kong Ultimate Players Association (HKUPA).
Watch the experts demonstrate a skip guts competition – bouncing discs on the ground between players. You can also join a free trial where tutors will explain the basic rules of Ultimate Frisbee and share different throwing techniques.
For music we have a heady mix of styles in a line-up that includes shoegaze-rock with UNiXX, folk-rock with The Gatling Gun Revival, math-folk with GDJYB, rock-metal with DP, indie pop silhungmo and local rock gurus Tie Shu Lan. There will also be a Music Market in the Central Lawn, featuring Harbour Records and the legendary “Father of Vinyls” Paul from Paul’s Used Records in Ap Liu Street.
Throughout the afternoon there will be sizzling hot flow arts shows by Viva Circus with a mesmerising mix of acro-balance routines, choreographed street workout demonstrations and hoop performances that will light up with LED effects after sunset. There will also be free hula-hoop trial sessions with the artist if you would like the chance to learn some cool moves yourself. You can also sign up to design your own hoop too!

About Freespace Happening
Building on the success of our annual Freespace Fest, a series of free outdoor events take place at West Kowloon on the second Sunday of each month from August 2015. Starting from December 2015, Freespace Happening will take place twice a month - on the second and fourth Sundays. Each Freespace Happening will feature music and a selection of special attractions.
