Two-day intensive workshop
This intensive interactive workshop offers students the chance to work with a professional artist and explore the choreography, cinematography and editing techniques used in screendance.
Students gain a basic understanding of dance, screendance, and the concepts of dance phrasing, exploring movement and the body through interactive games. They also learn about camera shots and editing techniques, the relationship between visuals and sound, and how these elements can be used to create a particular mood or feeling for the viewer. Through the process, students create and use a synopsis and storyboard, learn about the division of tasks among a screendance film crew, and the different terminologies used by professionals.
Participating students produce their own screendance works. Selected works will be showcased at the

About Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival
The first Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival was organised by City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) in 2004. The only festival of its kind in Asia, Jumping Frames features a selection of acclaimed international productions, a dance video competition and talks. The event provides a platform to facilitate cooperation between film directors and professional dancers, and where artists and audiences can share experiences and perspectives.
